The staff were pleasant, the breakfast buffet was substantial and good quality. The heated pool was good also.

Our stay was probably not a true reflection of the hotel, they were very short staffed due to covid. However the Hotel is looking very tired, the room was fine but there was mold around the french doors leading to the balcony and the room itself was very warm and stuffy. Dinner service only started at 6:30pm which was an issue for us with a small child who need feeding earlier.The pool area was nice however the changing rooms looked very tired and not the cleanest. the fact that we could walk poolside with outdoor shoes to get to the family changing area was a concern.

Location

The hotel is tired, dirty, and in need if an upgrade, the food wasn't good, the pool area and changing rooms are dirty, the tiles in the 'spa' pool were filthy, the wallpaper in our room peeling off, carpets covered in disgusting stains, the bath was dirty. Just needs lots of work to bring it up to a decent standard.

we had a lot of problems from the minute we walked through the doors . consisting of a dirty room , after 3 room changes we were reasonably happy . the leisure facilities were also dirty . we went to the restaurant for dinner the evening of New Year’s Eve . The food was awful , the service was a shambles and it was very over priced

the room we eventually got was never cleaned. no change of towels . no toilet rolls in the room. overall the hotel was not at all clean.

The smoking area isn't very well noticeable so guests were stood right outside the entrance

Nice location

The hotel was over booked. The room which I received was cold, the heating did not work. The hallway was warmer so I had to leave the door open and sleep with my Jacket and Woolley hat on.Also the light in the bathroom did not work.

The size of the room, balcony overlooking woodland and it been nice and quiet.The breakfast was nice too.

The bed was too hard, shower was hard to use as too close to bottom of bath, asked fir a disabled access room and my partner struggled to get in the bath for a shower, and low water pressure. Also the decor needed updating.

Good location

The room was very dated and run down, the bathroom light didn’t work and suite was very poor.

Would have scored 10 overall but we had to change rooms when the rather heavy curtains and rail fell off of the wall and we had to change from our preferred room, but the move was minimal and executed very quickly and efficiently, nothing was too much trouble for the staff! All the other facilities were excellent, thank you for a lovely one night stay!

Good location, and a quiet room.

Bedlinen was stained and thermostat on shower not working so water either warm or cold.

Absolutely shocking that swimming pool and gym was shut for much of our stay, as that was the sole reason for booking this hotel.... No compensation offered by management....In effect, they did not provide the services for which we paid.

My kids were placed down the hall even though I requested an adjoining room. We were not aloud to use the pool. As their was only 1 adult. I had to request a refund. My entire Christmas was spoilt by the staff at the Mercure

I checked all facilities via telephone and email before arrival. Was not able to use facilities

Close to Leeds airport and the ring road. Very comfortable room.

A bit expensive, Also the restaurant had odd operations , I guess due to covid , where the kitchen was only doing one meal at once, So as they had just accepted a 'big' order I had to go elsewhere. But just have to accept these things can happen in covid times.

It is a great hotel, and in a very quiet spot, a bit surprised by comments here that it was noisy - didn't experience nothing of the sort, but they again there were no events and I was there on a week's night. Was great little room, and the gym and pool were ace.

it was awful, they put us on the top floor after changing our room, no lift, it was difficult for my disabled daughter.

the room they put us in was old fashioned and uncomfortable, different to the first room they put us in.

Room was very dated and not as clean as you’d expect. There was black mould above the door to the bathroom and the bed base was ripped in several places. Shower was a trickle so you couldn’t wash properly. Definitely needs modernisation.

The bed was super comfy and the shower was great too. The breakfast is one of the best english bf i ever ate.

The hotel room was clean and tidy. It was my husband's birthday the day we arrived and they decorated my room with a couple of birthday banners.

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The food was over cooked, burnt in places. The prices of the food were too expensive for the quality of food you got.

The only problem I had was the balcony door were wide open when I arrived, so the room were cold. It warned up after a while though
